Join our Special Projects volunteer team to support a variety of activities that help our programs and community events run smoothly. Volunteers assist with one-time projects and special events, providing behind-the-scenes help that keeps our operations organized and impactful. Tasks may include assembling materials, preparing mailings, organizing supplies, cutting papers, folding envelopes, or setting up for community events.
This is a great opportunity for detail-oriented volunteers who enjoy hands-on work and supporting our mission in flexible, practical ways. Special Projects volunteers may be called upon on an as-needed basis for unique assignments throughout the year.
What to expect:
For this project, volunteers will help prepare gift cards for community members who are currently impacted by changes or delays in SNAP and CalFresh benefits. Tasks include preparing slips of paper with messages or instructions and neatly taping them to individual gift cards. These cards will be distributed to support families and individuals experiencing food insecurity.
Attention to detail, accuracy, and care are important for this task, as these cards directly support our neighbors in need.
Location: Yolo Food Bank Office | Grow West Community Room.
