Court Ordered Community Service
Yolo Food Bank accepts court-ordered community service only for select traffic-related violations and are limited to designated volunteer roles. Individuals who receive a court order to perform community service will be accepted as long as they meet Yolo Food Bank’s requirements. To register and attend a volunteer shift, they must receive approval by a Volunteer Services staff member. Approvals are made within 3-5 business days.
To be considered, individuals must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Provide documentation from a California Court
- Receive approval from Volunteer Services before beginning any service hours
Onboarding Process:
- Self screening (review court-ordered community service policy/requirements)
- Submit an online community service request form (below)
- Submit proper documentation to volunteer@yolofoodbank.org
- Document should include full name, summary of offense, hours requested and deadline
- Allow 3-5 business days for a staff member to contact you
- If approved, you will be asked to complete a Volunteer Profile.
- You will be responsible for scheduling your own shift(s) online through our Volunteer Page.
**Eligibility is reviewed based on program capacity and alignment with available volunteer opportunities. Individuals with offenses related to violence, theft, sexual misconduct, drugs or alcohol, abuse, or weapons are not eligible. Approval is not guaranteed. Yolo Food Bank reserved the right to deny, limit or end participation at any time based on policy compliance, safety considerations, or operational needs.**
