Harvest at Durst Organic Growers (Esparto)

Description

Join us out at the farm and dig into something fresh, literally! We're looking for passionate volunteers to help us harvest a cabbage, fennel, broccoli and cauliflower. Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or a first time volunteer, your hands can help grow something bigger than a harvest.

By contributing your time, you'll help support our Harvest Program which:

  • expands access to culturally relevant foods that are often hard to find or afford in traditional markets
  • connects diverse communities with Yolo County farmers and the environment in a meaningful way
  • increases food access across our community by distributing local, fresh produce to those who need it most

What to Expect:

  • you'll harvest produce from the ground  - expect some bending or kneeling
  • all harvest tools and supplies are provided by YFB
  • you'll work alongside friendly staff and volunteers in a relaxed, supportive environment
  • no experience necessary - just a willingness to lend a hand and enjoy the outdoors

How to Prepare:

  • certain crops may cause skin irritation so we recommend that you wear a long sleeve top and pants
  • for safety, closed toed shoes are required at all volunteer events
  • hydration is key - please bring a reusable water bottle

Additional Map for Directions:
