Are you passionate about reducing food insecurity in Yolo County? Join us at the Yolo Food Bank warehouse and operations facility! Your help will ensure that our neighbors across the county can rely on access to fresh food! 

You will work along a conveyor belt to pack boxes or bags with various produce, and shelf-stable items that will be:

delivered right to our neighbors' doorsteps through the Private Community Food Distribution program ORdistributed through our Family Food Box program at a local school or agricultural worksite

This event is perfect for a team-building activity!

Packing at the YFB Warehouse is dependent on incoming donations, product availability, and program needs. While we aim to offer a consistent schedule, we may have to adjust dates and times to best serve our food recipients. If the schedule does change, our Volunteer Services Team, will reach out to you and offer alternative options!

Are you looking for an easy, independent volunteer activity?

Yolo Food Bank is currently seeking volunteers to assist in our new Sutter Health Partner Agency Store located at our main warehouse facility. Volunteers are needed to assist in organizing and restocking our warehouse area to better serve our non-profit partners in the county. Please consider signing up below! 

Volunteers will assist in organizing/cleaning, stocking shelves, sorting food and non-food items, and consolidating pallets.

Requirements:

Must wear closed-toe shoesMust be able to stand, bend, and lift up to 10 pounds.

Notes: 

Warehouse is NOT temperature controlled, please plan accordingly. Water and cool down area will be provided.

Sign up for Dry Product Packing! Help us pack rice, dry goods, and produce by portioning items from bulk (25-50 lb) bags into smaller 1-2 lb bags, and cutting mesh bags for bulk produce and fruit for distribution to our Yolo County community members

This opportunity is great for working at your own pace, building community with a small group of volunteers, and focusing on the small details. You will use simple measuring tools, occasionally lift materials, and maintain a clean and sanitary work station. 

 

Packing at the YFB Warehouse is dependent on incoming donations, product availability, and program needs. While we aim to offer a consistent schedule, we may have to adjust dates and times to best serve our food recipients. If the schedule does change, a Volunteer Coordinator will reach out to you and offer alternative options! 

Caution: Volunteers with severe food allergies are encouraged to seek other opportunities due to potential cross contamination!

Join us at the Yolo Food Bank warehouse and operations facility to pack bags of shelf-stable food for our community members! 

Role: You will work along a conveyor belt to pack cans and dry ingredients into bags for our various food distribution programs. Engage with a team of 20+ volunteers!

This is a great medium-paced opportunity - a little calmer than a food distribution, but a little more variety than a produce or dry product packing shift.

When: The following Thursdays | 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Calling all organizers! Yolo Food Bank’s Annual Golf Tournament is just around the corner, and we’re looking for dedicated volunteers to help us prepare for the big day. Join us at the Food Bank as we assemble swag bags and thank-you gifts for our golfers, helping create a warm and memorable experience before they even hit the course. We’ll also have a small but important project labeling bag valet tags to keep everything running smoothly on event day. If you enjoy hands-on projects and being part of the magic that makes events come together, we’d love to have you!
