Volunteer: Harvest at River Garden Farms (Knights Landing)

Join us out at the farm and dig into something fresh, literally! We're looking for passionate volunteers to help us harvest tomatillos and pumpkins. Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or a first time volunteer, your hands can help grow something bigger than a harvest.

By contributing your time, you'll help support our Harvest Program which:

expands access to culturally relevant foods that are often hard to find or afford in traditional marketsconnects diverse communities with Yolo County farmers and the environment in a meaningful wayincreases food access across our community by distributing local, fresh produce to those who need it most

What to Expect:

you'll harvest the produce from the vines  - expect some bending and kneelingall harvest tools and supplies are provided by YFByou'll work alongside friendly staff and volunteers in a relaxed, supportive environmentno experience necessary - just a willingness to lend a hand and enjoy the outdoorsTomatillos: September 11, 13, 18 and 25Pumpkins: September 20 and 27

How to Prepare:

certain crops may cause skin irritation so we recommend that you wear a long sleeve top and pants for safety, closed toed shoes are required at all volunteer eventshydration is key - please bring a reusable water bottle

Please arrive no later than 5 minutes late! Our staff will meet you at the check in area and guide you to the field.
