Are you passionate about reducing food insecurity in Yolo County? Join us at the Yolo Food Bank warehouse and operations facility! Your help will ensure that our neighbors across the county can rely on access to fresh food! 

You will work along a conveyor belt to pack boxes or bags with various produce, shelf-stable, and/or grocery recovery items that will be:

delivered right to our neighbors' doorsteps through the Private Community Food Distribution program OR distributed through the Public Community drive-thru or walk-up food distributions OR distributed through a Private Community Food Distribution at a local school or agricultural worksite

This event is perfect for a team-building activity!

Packing at the YFB Warehouse is dependent on incoming donations, product availability, and program needs. Are you looking for an easy, independent volunteer activity?

Yolo Food Bank is currently seeking volunteers to assist in our new Sutter Health Partner Agency Store located at our main warehouse facility. Volunteers are needed to assist in organizing and restocking our warehouse area to better serve our non-profit partners in the county. Please consider signing up below! 

Volunteers will assist in organizing/cleaning, stocking shelves, sorting food and non-food items, and consolidating pallets.

Requirements:

Must wear closed-toe shoesMust be able to stand, bend, and lift up to 10 pounds.

Notes: 

Warehouse is NOT temperature controlled, please plan accordingly. Water and cool down area will be provided.

Sign up for Dry Product Packing to help us pack rice, beans, produce and other dry goods from bulk (25-50 pound) bags/containers into smaller 1-2 pound bags for distribution to our Yolo County community members

This opportunity is great for working at your own pace, building community with a small group of volunteers, and focusing on the small details. You will use simple measuring tools, occasionally lift materials, and maintain a clean and sanitary work station.

Help our community members receive fresh groceries! The Woodland Community College food distribution operates as a drive-thru, and we need your help directing traffic to ensure a smooth, fast process.

We are looking for volunteers who are early birds, have a knack for organization, and love interacting with others! As a distribution traffic support volunteer, you will work in a team to:

Greet food recipients as they arrive at the food distributionDirect cars into lines of trafficRelease lines of cars as the distribution starts and continues

Join us out at the farm and dig into something fresh, literally! We're looking for passionate volunteers to help us harvest tomatillos and pumpkins. Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or a first time volunteer, your hands can help grow something bigger than a harvest.

You will be assigned up to 15 addresses which can take up to 2 hours to deliver.
